Our April through June Give-Away-The-Plate recipient is HOPE (Hispanic Organization Promoting Education).
This organization’s aim is to increase the graduation rate of Hispanic high school students in Georgia (currently at nearly 75% lower than that of Asians, Whites, and Blacks). Founded in Gwinnett, and now serving kids from 44 schools in North-Central Georgia, HOPE provides educational, leadership, and service opportunities in and after school. It holds workshops and conferences, offers information (e.g., about DACA and college), and provides opportunities for participants to develop social skills, cooperate, and grow.
