Stephen Pyle (he/him)
Pianist
UUCG’s accomplished pianist, Stephen Pyle, provides music for Sunday services and special services during the year. He works closely with the minister, choir director, and lay service leaders to select music that highlights our monthly themes and the topic of the service.
Stephen has spent the majority of his life behind a piano. He played for church and in talent shows, got a professional job while still in high school, and received the musical scholarship to Young Harris College, majoring in Piano Performance. He was soon traveling the eastern United States with The Lefevres (Gospel music), then spent 10 years managing a corporate travel agency and exploring the world.
After leaving the agency for a small piano bar in Buckhead, he then enjoyed the next 20 years playing retirement villages, private parties, hotel lobbies and some well-known restaurants, primarily in Atlanta, but also gigged in Tennessee, New York, and the Atlantic Ocean. Stephen was proud to be Principal Accompanist for the Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus.
In addition to providing accompaniment for UUCG, he now runs a small business from home called Homemade Hollywood and volunteers for Operation Photo Rescue, restoring photographs damaged by disasters.
