How do we envision the future of our ministry?

Making Sense of Our Many Languages

“Amen!” “Blessed Be!” “Asé!” “So Mote It Be!” “Amin!” “Shalom!”

These are just some of the ways Unitarian Universalists might close a prayer, end a meditation, or express

enthusiasm for something we have heard. What do we

experience when we hear religious, spiritual, or philosophical words that we particularly love? What do we feel when we hear words that carry negative associations for us or that simply don’t fit with our personal beliefs?

Whether we are atheists or theists, Pagans or

Buddhists, agnostics, Christians, Hindus, Jews, or any other religious identity we may claim, all of us Unitarian

Universalists get invited to ground ourselves in our most

authentic language. We all also get invited to make space in our community for spiritual languages not our own.

On this Sunday we’ll share the languages and words we love the most, and we’ll explore how our community can hold each other even when our language preferences

conflict.

Curiosity. Courage. Compassion. Let’s listen to each other and expand our ministry!

Each month on the first Sunday, the UUCG Board of Trustees hosts a Conversation on a currently relevant topic.

We value your voice, and we invite you to share your thoughts.  Come, fill your potluck plate and return to the Sanctuary to engage in discussion with us.

These Conversations are accessible both in person and online via Zoom at the worship link.
Most months, the Conversation is recorded and made available for later viewing.
